SpaceX has secured a colossal $40 billion in debt financing to bolster its AI capabilities with cutting-edge graphics processing units (GPUs). CEO Elon Musk announced on X that this investment-grade financing will enhance SpaceX's AI infrastructure, supported by revenue from its Starlink and rocket launch services.

The financing, primarily callable debt for GPUs, is set to fuel SpaceX's AI ambitions, with deliveries expected in early 2027. This move highlights the immense capital demands of the AI boom, as tech giants invest heavily in advanced chips and data centers to power sophisticated AI models.

SpaceX's AI division, dubbed "Super Intelligence" (SI), has rapidly grown into its largest business unit. The company's third-quarter revenue skyrocketed to $7.56 billion, a ninefold increase from the previous year. Musk noted that while debt markets are tightening, SpaceX's diverse revenue streams have kept financing channels open.

Musk also forecasted a shakeout among over 200 "neocloud" companies, which focus on AI and machine-learning infrastructure, predicting that only a few will survive the impending industry consolidation. As SpaceX ramps up its AI investments, it positions itself at the forefront of this technological revolution.
